Meet Taylar
The horse girl behind every knot
From Horse Girl to Tack Maker
Louievale Equine was born in Holbrook, NSW, in July 2025 — created by founder Taylar Durdin, a lifelong horse girl with a habit of falling in love with one too many steeds. After years of buying horse tack that never quite felt right, she decided to start making her own.
What started as a creative outlet has now turned into a full-blown obsession — designing, knotting, testing, and crafting tack that's both functional and beautiful. Every piece is made with a whole lot of love (and a bit of hay).
Louievale was founded on the belief that every horse deserves gear that fits just right — not just in size, but in style too. Taylar started Louievale to turn her ideas into reality, and now helps others bring their vision to life through custom handmade tack and accessories that are as unique as the horses they're made for.
What Makes Louievale Different
-
Truly Handmade
Every single knot is tied by hand right here in Holbrook. No factory lines, no shortcuts. Just Taylar, her workspace, and hours of careful crafting. Each piece gets the time and attention it deserves — because your horse deserves nothing less.
-
Made Just For You
Whether you're after something bold and colourful or soft and earthy, every piece is crafted to reflect your horse's personality — and yours. Choose from 50+ colors, custom lengths, hardware options, and special touches. If you can dream it, we can probably make it.
-
Built To Last
We use Australian standard marine-grade paracord and quality hardware that can handle the harsh Aussie sun, paddock life, and everything in between. These aren't just pretty — they're tough, functional, and designed for real horse people living real horse lives.
The Craft Behind Every Piece
Each product is handmade right here in Holbrook using high-quality rope and paracord. The process isn't fast — and that's the point. Every halter, lead, and accessory takes time, because Taylar believes you can feel the difference between something that's been rushed and something that's been crafted with care.
The rope is measured and cut with precision. Colours are matched based on feel, not formula. Some combos are bold and unapologetic, others are soft and subtle. The vibe always stays the same: every item is built to last, not just look good.
Each knot is done by hand. There's no factory line here. Just a pair of hands, a good eye, and a whole lot of patience. The process isn't fancy — it's raw, earthy, and covered in bits of rope and tools. And when something's been rushed? Taylar knows. You can feel it when it's built for real horse people, by someone who gets what that means.
Coming Soon: Leather Lines
Right now, it's all rope and paracord — texture, tone, and timeless knots. But leather lines are coming soon. Stay tuned for bridles, reins, and leather accents that match the same handmade quality you've come to expect.
Made in Holbrook, NSW
Louievale is proudly based in Holbrook, a small town in rural New South Wales with more horses than traffic lights. It's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, paddocks stretch for miles, and the pace of life just makes sense.
Supporting Louievale means supporting a small, locally-owned business that's built on passion, not profit margins. Every order helps keep this dream alive and growing.
This Is Just The Beginning
Louievale is still growing, still learning, and still evolving. What started as one woman making halters in her spare time has turned into something bigger — a brand built on quality, creativity, and a genuine love for horses and the people who care for them.
The goal has always been simple: make gear that fits, looks incredible, and lasts. Everything else is just noise.
Whether you're mucking out stables or heading off for a trail ride, Louievale gear is made to be part of your life — not just your feed.
