From Horse Girl to Tack Maker

A habit of falling in love with one too many steeds.

Louievale Equine was born in Holbrook, NSW, in 2025, created by founder Taylar Durdin. A dedicated horse girl with a lifelong soft spot for four-legged trouble, Taylar spent years buying horse tack that never quite felt right. So she started making her own.

What started as a creative outlet has turned into a full-blown obsession. Designing, knotting, testing, crafting tack that is both functional and beautiful. Every piece is made with a whole lot of love (and a bit of hay).

Now based in Cairns, QLD, Taylar helps others bring their vision to life through custom handmade tack and accessories that are as unique as the horses they are made for.

The Craft Behind Every Piece

Each product is handmade right here in Cairns using high-quality rope and paracord. The process is not fast, and that is the point. Every halter, lead, and accessory takes time, because Taylar believes you can feel the difference between something rushed and something crafted with care.

The rope is measured and cut with precision. Colours are matched based on feel, not formula. Some combos are bold and unapologetic, others are soft and subtle. Every item is built to last, not just look good.

Each knot is done by hand. No factory line here. Just a pair of hands, a good eye, and a whole lot of patience. Leather collars are already here, with bridles and reins on the way.
